HELP IN ONE OF THESE AREAS?
They make hasty, poorly-considered decisions and need to have better judgment.
They’re being bullied at school – or they’re the one doing the bullying. They don’t get enough exercise or need to lose weight.
They have low self-esteem and seem to be down all the time. They give up when things get difficult and fail to meet their goals.
RAISING A TEENAGER REQUIRES PERSISTENCE & PATIENCE
It can test your sanity even at the best of times. Yet, you want the best for your teenager. You want them to have the tools they need to succeed now and later in life – and you’d like that to happen without having to pull out all your hair in the process. Getting them to do anything you want them to do can feel utterly impossible, and you’re not sure where to start.
Studying martial arts helps kids learn how to overcome their problems and learn important lessons – the kind of lessons that will follow them to your home, to the classroom, and for the rest of their lives.
YOUR TEEN WILL GROW WITH EVERY CLASS!
Teenagers who study martial arts learn the benefits of self-control and discipline with every lesson. Our classes emphasize core values like discipline, respect, and persistence. Students learn that the way they treat others – in and out of the dojo – reflects on them as people and affects their ability to achieve their goals.
LEARN THE VALUE OF RESPECTING THEMSELVES & OTHERS
Teens sometimes seem to be all attitude and no respect – in fact, it can seem like they go out of the way to respect all authority figures.
In our martial arts school, respect is a core discipline. Students must treat their instructor and fellow students with respect at all times.
Ultimately, teens who study martial arts learn that when they respect themselves, others will respect them, too.
JUDGMENT IS AN ESSENTIAL SKILL IN MARTIAL ARTS
Whether they’re in a martial arts class or in a competition, the difference between a good performance and a poor one often comes down to judgment.
Students learn how to make judgments on the fly using the information they have on hand in conjunction with their training.
They also learn how to differentiate between good instincts and bad ones – and to use that information to make judgments.
GET YOUR KIDS OFF THE COUCH AND INTO MARTIAL ARTS
It might seem like your teenager would happily spend all day sitting on the couch playing video games or posting on social media.
The electronics epidemic might be a good thing in many ways, but teenagers still need physical activity to stay fit and healthy.
Martial arts classes provide teens with challenging workouts in a fun, social setting that rivals any video game.
HOW TO SET (AND ACHIEVE) GOALS
Teens sometimes seem not to care about setting goals either in the short-term or the long-term.
The study of martial arts requires them to pursue goals on a regular basis. Each skill they learn, and each belt they earn, represents a goal that they have achieved.
Goal-setting in this way provides teens with the tools they need to set achievable goals in school, at home, and in life.
We love Peoria Martial Arts! Master Elliott has been working with my daughter for the past 3 years, since she was 4. Many martial arts schools offer children’s programs, but the instructors at PMAC are truly gifted in engaging, encouraging and teaching young children. They go beyond teaching only martial arts as a sport and focus on manners, communication and leadership, life skills that will benefit our kids in all areas of their lives. I highly recommend Peoria Martial Arts Center!
So we looked for about 6 weeks looking for something that was affordable, and had multiple options for days. I posted on my Facebook page that I was looking for somewhere to enroll my 5 year old, and my daughters Girl Scout leader recommended me to Peoria Martial Arts Center. We did the free month, totally worth it and then signed up for the 12 month subscription. We have since been coming for about 4 months and have an hour drive one way because we live in Buckeye. Of course I would like something closer however the two brothers that teach here are absolutely amazing! They are stern when they need to be, and goofy and funny the rest of the time. My son looks forward to going, and is learning more than just martial arts, he’s learning how to listen, how to be patient, how to be respectful and responsible. I would highly recommend! This is place where you want to take your kids, people you want your children to learn from and look up to.
I highly recommend Peoria Martial Arts Center (PMAC) for young children interested in martial arts. From the moment we stepped into the dojo, the passionate and dedicated instructors created a positive and encouraging environment for my 5-year-old. The curriculum seamlessly combines discipline, technique, and fun, fostering growth, confidence, and self-discipline. The school's emphasis on values such as respect and perseverance has had a positive impact on my child's behavior and character development both on and off the mat. With a strong commitment to safety and a supportive community, PMAC provides an exceptional foundation for children to thrive and excel in martial arts.
The well-structured curriculum engages and motivates young learners, while the focus on character development and life skills helps children become better individuals. The school's commitment to safety and the welcoming community of instructors parents make it an exceptional place for children to grow and succeed. Overall, PMAC has provided my child with a remarkable journey and foundation for lifelong growth in martial arts.
We have been members for over 6 months and can say we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Master Elliott and Master Paul are EXCELLENT at what they do. My 9 year old started out first, and then my 11 year old became interested after watching his brother in class. Then, I JOINED! We recently earned our orange belts and couldn't be more satisfied. I would refer Peoria Martial Arts. I AM VERY picky and don't post reviews unless I feel it is well deserved and IT VERY MUCH IS! Thank you guys at PMAC. We love it!
My 4 year old daughter has been going here for less than a month and we already feel like family. We could not be any happier with the quality of instruction. Master Elliot has a way of being fun and firm simultaneously, creating a perfect learning environment for kids
If you have ever thought about enriching your child’s life with martial arts, without reservation, Master Jon is the person I would recommend.
He does not just teach martial arts, he instills values and morals into his students by leading through example.
My son is a better person for having trained with Master Jon for the past 7 years! His teachings will forever impact and be a part of my son’s life.
Excellent Martial Arts Center! Clean, organized, and well-maintained facility. Everyone there is friendly and Master Elliott is amazing at teaching my son. We love it here.
My son loves it here. His self esteem and level of self respect has been restored since we moved him to this studio. I am forever grateful to Master Elliot for re-igniting the passion my son has for Martial Arts that was crushed by his former studio. #gratitude
